New Hand Painted Eyes in my Etsy Store!!

I got inspired in doctor office when I was waiting for my girl to have well-check up! Yes, you didn't read wrong, it's in doctor office, they have so many children books, body pictures and many other things that inspired me to create my hand-painted eyes. This time I have frog/toad eyes, they are 21mm wide!! I also have 24mm pearl yellow and pearl orange eyes. Last one is the 18mm Spin eyes. You know what I was thinking when I was painting these? I was thinking my fan. I can't wait for the summer time to come! It's wet and yucky these days. My hubby looked at these eyes and he spin them in front of me, he was pretending magician to hypnotize me!! It's fun! =)

30mm Comical Eyes for Puppet and Big Soft Toys

New Items in our store! Have you seen big comical eyes? They are cute and funny looking! No, they are not realistic at all, but they will make you smile! Some people, I say some... LOL may think when the plastic eyes are too realistic that it kinds of freaky looking, but you want to make stuffed toys just like everyone else, try these comical eyes. I have 8mm blue, 10mm blue, 30mm blue, 30mm pink and 42mm black in my store. They look like the one you've seen in cartoon! Instead of making stuffed toys look like real, try something different and make your stuff toys look like cartoon characters! =) My store: 6060.etsy.com or 6060.artfire.com

Hand Painted Kawaii Eyes

This week I hand painted some Kawaii Eyes for me and you! =) I love amigurumi, of course I have to save some for myself! Have you watched all these Japanese Kawaii cartoons? I know I have! I am always amazed of how those cartoon producers can draw these little cute critters, especially the eyes, just a few dots more in the pupils and it show the critter emotions by no time! I love those critters, and mostly cartoons! LOL I am inspired by those cartoons and created these adorable cute eyes. These are 12mm eyes, I have used pearl green, pearl white and pearl pink colors on these eyes! I hope you like it! Check out my etsy store: 6060.etsy.com

Installation of Safety Eyes Instruction

Installation of Safety Eyes Instruction
By Clara (6060.etsy.com & 6060eyes.artfire.com)

3/28/2009 updated

Usage of this document:

Do not distribute this document or sell this document by any means. The intention of this document is to show crafters how to install the safety eyes. Thank you.
Suggestion:
1. Make sure the eyes are located in the right place; once the washers are in, it is very hard to pull them back out again.
2. If you are using material like fabric, vinyl and leather, enlarge the hole a little by poking a needle (yarn needle/ skewer/ large sewing needle/ knitting needles, etc) through the material first.
1. Place the safety eyes into the holes and check to see if they are in the right place.
2. Once you think they are in the right place, you can start the process of placing washers at the back.
3. This is the back side of the safety eyes.
4. Holding the washer fluted side up, slide it on to the eye post.
(Again, MAKE SURE the eye is in the right place. Once you push the washer to the back of the eye, it will be extremely hard to remove).
5. Apply even pressure with both thumbs to slide the washer down the eye post.
This is the finished look of two 15mm cat eyes placed on my crocheted animal.
If you use the little black safety eyes, installation will be the same as the 15 mm eyes. Remember to MAKE SURE the eye is in the right place. Push the washer fluted side up towards to the back of the eye.
This is the finished look of a 6mm black eye installed as a cat nose!
With all the parts together, my cat finally can see and smell.
I hope this document helps you to understand how to put the eyes on your critters and creations. Thank you and enjoy!
Clara :)
