Pay by Paypal without a Paypal account

A lot of customers asked how to make a payment if they didn't have a Paypal account. Here I have the picture regarding the 1st step how to use credit card as a payment without a Paypal account.

What you have to do is go through Etsy's checkout process, it will go to this picture screen. As you can see "Choose a way to pay" will automatically key in your email address. Below that you can see "Don't have a Paypal account?". You can click on that, and start to pay by credit card process. The whole transaction is using Paypal as a platform to pay by using your credit card, you have to key in your address and credit card information. Remember to key in your shipping address carefully because sellers are mostly using that to ship your package to you.

Hubby's Big Hat

The other day it was extremely cold, and there were only a few snowflakes. My kids were so happy to go out and played those big snowflakes, although there weren't much. My hubby came home from work, happily to go out with them, pulled out a hat that only cover 2/3 of this head, and went out with them.

20 mins later, they all came back, the kids were fine, they dressed well and the water only got them on the jacket. However, my hubby's hair and beard all filled with tiny snowflakes, all wet. I could tell he needed a big hat to cover his ears, beard, at least most of it anyway.

I searched many patterns, I couldn't find one that is big enough. They all catered to head size 20". It's not my hubby is fat and big, it's because he has a big head, especially long forehead. My friend Gail surprised me with some patterns, but they were not deep enough. With the limited yarn choice I have in stash, finally I found this pattern from Suzie. I used a size hook "J", pulled out the dark gray yarn I have, and crochet his big hat.

Suzie's pattern is designed as beanie hat, but my hubby insisted he needed the edge long enough to fold, so here it is, I finished the whole ball of yarn, 30 rows. WOW!! I never crochet a hat that big!
So now he is happy and I am happy! xoxo

Danger Monster Swap

A month before Halloween I joined a monster swap in "Danger Monster Group". However, my swap partner just didn't send out a package for me, so the mod in that group arranged an angel to send me a package. I got the package on last Monday. Everything is so nice, especially the Green Monster. We totally love it. We, yes, we, my whole family just adored him. We display him in the middle of our Christmas tree and he fits right in. :)

Crochet Zombie dolls

I have joined a swap recently. I thought with a month and a half of time I could finish everything by no time. Oh boy am I wrong! Luckily finally I finished something I am happy with. =) It's Halloween time, so I decided to crochet some zombie dolls.
These dolls base patterns:

The zombie with a hat: "Loveable Libby Fairy", I followed the head and body.
The little guy I follow the pattern "Nosferatu" in the book "Creepy cute crochet"

Eyes: a pair of 7.5mm clear eyes, one 10.5mm zombie eyes and one 7.5mm albino eyes
Yarns: Caron Simply Soft

The guts I crochet 10-15 single chain and then sew them in the scar area. My hubby said it's gross, but it's a ZOMBIE, it supposed to be gross, right? Those yarns are the left over or swap from the other lovely ladies. I love how they turned out. It's scary but cute at the same time. Now if you have purchase one of those sample pack from me and scare of that pair of abino eye, don't know what to do with it, you have no excuse anymore!! Crochet or knit something for fun. =P You won't be disappointed with zombie or albino eyes!!!

Sugar Corn Candy

I know it's still a bit early to talk about Halloween, Fall and Thanksgiving, but it never too early to talk about sugar corn candy. My hubby, he is a loyal fan of sugar corn candy, he can eat a whole bag of those without blinking his eyes. In the past I never really like corn candy because it's too sweet for my tooth, but after I met him and saw that he could put this thing in his mouth non-stop while working, watching tv, and even doing yard work, I started to look at this candy a different way. This candy is a symbol of the sweetness you can get from Fall, Thanksgiving and Halloween. The color is cheerful and it's always bring you back the memories of the happiness to have a big feast, party and having the lovely people around you in that season. Now while I am typing this, just thinking about it makes me want to have one. Since they are not in the supermarket yet, meanwhile I think I can just look at this amigurumi sugar corn and wait patiently until the fall arrives. =)

New Design Hand Painted Eyes

Did you have a great 4th of July? I knew I did. :) We went to see fireworks in a rainy and lightning night. It was pretty to see both fireworks and lightning at the same time. How about you?

In the past weekend I spent most of the time doing cleaning, cooking, and cleaning! LOL well.. not quite that bad, I spent some time to design and paint plastic eyes too. Here are what I have painted. What do you think?

Suggestions of installing plastic safety eyes

Usually the eyes I carry in my store you can install it to your critter/stuffed toys with your bare hands, however, I understand not everyone has the same strenght to push the washers when the eyes are small to handle. So here are couple suggestions that hopefully make your life easier. :)

1. If you have this interchangeable screw driver set in your house, there is always a handle with a hole, use that to help pushing the washer towards the eye. It's easier on your hand and you can grab the handle and use a little force and the washer should be right in.

2. If the washers are too hard, you don't have the right tool with you, you can soak the plastic washers into a bowl of really hot water for a few minutes. The hard plastic will turn softer and you can dry it and at once push it towards the eyes.

Crochet Coral Reef in DC

In Feb 2011, my friend Agnes went down here from NJ to visit her friend in VA. We were both interested in crochet and related items. I live in MD, from here to DC is like an hour. We have been chatting on the phone for a long time, like a pen pal but instead we chat by phone. We both too lazy to write I guess! :) One day I told her about the crochet exhibit in DC and we decided to visit the crochet coral reef exhibit in Natural Museum together. That day it's very crowd although the weather was very cold. It's hard to find a parking space. My hubby convinced me to take a train instead of driving. I was hesitated but was glad to listen to him, there was no way we could find a parking without fighting with the rest of the people!! :P Finally Agnes and I got to see each other, including our kids and families. It's an adventure in both "crochet" and "personal relationship" kind of way. We stayed in the museum for a few hours, the kids were tired, but luckily both of our hubbies kept the kids occupied while Agnes and I were able to look at the crochet project quietly!

The moment I saw the crochet I was speechless except many sounds of "wow". It was like stitches everywhere, the stitches were just single crochet, double crochet stitches, nothing complicated. However, all these different shapes, colors, designs, and materials together sure were very complicated. There was a lady at the side explaining the materials they were using, including wool, cotton, plastic bag, and even VCR tapes. Rainbow heart decor

I crocheted these chains of hearts a while back. The pattern is from Pepika.com. She provided a bunch of cute free patterns. This pattern is called " Crochet 3D Heart ". The yarn I used is called " Caron Simply Soft Brites Yarn ". This particular yarn is very soft, so when I put the stuffing into the hearts, I have to put a lot in order to keep the heart shape. Other than that, the yarn is pretty good for crocheting, it doesn't split much, and the colors are just as beautiful as it can be. If you are a crochet beginner, this is definitely a very nice and easy project for you, try it, you won't regret! :)

Carousel Kids

A few weeks ago, Diane sent me 2 books for my girls. She was really nice to do it. She even signed the books for me. This book was about all the animals in the carousel and how the kids discovered all these animals from their research. From the book, the kids knew about the fact and nature of the animals like gorillas, zebras, panda etc. This book was published by Houston Zoo and it's full of colorful pictures. I just read it to my kids, they love it ,especially my 5 year old, she's a fan of zebra since 1 year old.

Nowadays, so many animals are in danger and it's really nice that we, human, still cares about them and make sure that they will be here with us for a long long time.

Brand New Blog Look

Yesterday I spent the whole evening to update this blog look. Since I am not a tech person, doing this is a brand new adventure to me. Luckily I have this program to help me. I learnt this program from Linda, an etsian. I was skeptical at first, didn't know where to start. However, this program gave it all. It's easy to use, and I didn't even read the instructions before I started. To me, mother of two little kids, reading instructions quietly is impossible. I was glad I kinda finished everything by midnight. Yes, in between of course I got to cook and took care of the kids, but afterall, I was happy to learn a new program that would enhance the professional looking of my blog. This satisfied customer gave this program a thumbs up.

Birthday Present from Agnes

Yesterday I got a very lovely present from my girl friend, Agnes. She sent me this Starbucks thermos travel cup which I really like. I have been trying to lose weight for the last few weeks and this time is for real.

Today morning I stepped on the scale and I lost 10 lbs, my heart and mouth said "yoohoo" at the same time. I haven't been able to lose weight since I gave birth to my second child. I tried to lose weight, but with the stress and busy life, I gave up totally. 3 weeks ago I went to my personal doctor because of the headache I have been having for last 2 years, and my blood pressure was all time high, she ordered me to on diet and lose weight and took the high blood pressure medicine all at once. I was like "uh ho".

In the last 2 weeks, I was trying to take it easy in everything, especially eating, stop myself eating junk food whenever I feel very stressful. It helped a lot. I was hungry at first, then I just trying to drink more tea, or at lunch and dinner I would try to eat more rice and less meat. Finally it did work, and I was so glad.

Now talking about the thermos, in the past I drank 3 cups of coffee each day to keep me running, now I only have a cup, so that cup has to be lasting for a while. By putting my cup of coffee in a thermos cup, I was able to drink it in 2 hours, instead of finishing 1 cup in 15 mins and then went ahead and get a 2nd cup, I have this 1 cup of coffee for 2 hours. It totally helped me to lose weigh, cut down the sugar and milk.

Agnes, a true sweet heart, she heard me that I needed a thermo cup, she bought me another one for my birthday present, and now I can do the exact same thing when I am driving. Indeed, she has been a very lovely friend to have. Thank you Agnes!! (biggggggg huggggggssssssss for my girlfriend).

A small blue owl and how to choose safety eyes

When I crochet amigurumi, I love different colors, the bolder the better.

This time I used a bright blue color as the body and the other parts I used orange, hot pink and white.

The safety eyes I used 18mm translucent blue. The blackground stitches are white in color, so it didn't affect the translucent blue eyes one bit.

Sometimes when we chose safety eyes for a critter, you don't really need to think what size of eye fits what size of a critter. I suggest to get different sizes of eyes. A new amigurumi crocheter I suggested to use from 9mm to 18mm, black eyes first, then once you get a hold of it, then you can focus with trying different colors.

I know sometimes you will afraid like "Geez.. What am I going to do with neon yellow, neon green? " . Tell you the truth, there is no boundaries with the choices. I always use colors that always clash to each other. For example, orange with green yarns, yellow with bright blue, or even pink with black or brown. Since critters are naturally cute, there is no wrong by using different colors together.

So I say " Build up your confidence and try the bright color yarns, eyes and noses "

5 1/2 hours throw

This pattern is from Lion Brand website. A year ago when I first purchased this brown sofa, I thought I got to have something with lighter color. So I thought having a throw was just right. I was very happy it turned out ok, it's very comfy and warm. In winter time it's a must have! I crocheted it more than 5 1/2 hours of course, but it's worth it! :)

oohhhh... gonna crochet this, I got the yarn yesterday but when I came back, I realized they are the wrong color! :( Got to ask Karla where she got her yarns from! My local Walmart cut the craft apartment so bad it only a few things there. Joann has moved away further, like an half hour drive, it's not easy to buy yarns like before.

Anyway, once I finish the red one and the yellow one, I will repost it again! :)

I found this pattern through ravelry.com at first, and the original designer's picture is just too attractive that I just have to try to make this.

After I finished and tried it all, I think the yarn and the all cowl may be a little bit too big for me. However, in the winter time if you want to bundle up with lots of fabric to keep you warm, this yarn and this cowl will keep you super warm. I wear it for a few minute in the house and I already feeling too hot.

This is also a super quick project. I used about 2 hours to make this, it's very easy to make and you will definitely enjoy it when the weather get cold.

Blooming Sun Hat

I crocheted this sun hat in the summer time. I really like the pattern and shape. The flower design on the top is excellent. To me, this design is a bit of the small size, my 7 year old daughter wears it just a little bit too big, but for me, it's a little bit too small. After all, it only takes 2 to 3 hours to finish, it's a super quick project if you want to crochet something other than just scarf. It will give you a great satisfaction. A while back I crochet this Tulip Stitch dishcloth. I thought I should blog this before I forgot. It's very easy to crochet and it looks so good. I only made 1 to though, got to do this more often. I have been too busy with my etsy store, too crazy to deal with convo and marketing, I just put my hobby aside.

OK, this weekend... got to find that hook back. :P

PinCushion Swap with a tea cup or a canning jar

A month ago I joined PinCushion swap. This swap is about creating a heaven land for the swap partner by using old tea cup/ jar or other container. My partner like jar and I like tea cup. Yesterday I finally got my tea cup pin cushion. It's so lovely and the more I looked at it the more I found out in that tiny little tea cup, it's so detailing. I couldn't believe it. I think that's why handmade is so popular nowadays, you just can't find commercial item that is created by someone with heart, love and with so much personalities. Corey's created this pincushion with so much on it, the house, the sea dragon, the door, roof, tree, everything is so details, it's unbelievable. It's like a little paradise for me. I love how colorful it is for my little paradise. It's perfect! :) Now it's sitting in my dining room! I love to look at it every time I walk by. Thanks Corey!!! xoxo OK, I know, mine is too simple, I think I am just ran out of energy and juice to create something like Corey's, however, I did try, that's important RIGHT?!?! I found this canning jar in Target, I have walked into so many stores and couldn't find any. I was so fed up and was thinking what was I going to do and then one day I walked in Target kitchen/app dept and there it was sitting in the lower shelf quietly. I was so happy. I found and followed instructions from Suzanne's tutorial. It's very helpful since I haven't made anything like this before. The hardest part wasn't to wrap the cushion on the jar, but actually embroidery the house on the cushion part. It's the cushion wasn't flat, I was having a very hard time to stable the house and put stitches around it at the same time. Again, I just knew I never be a embroidery person, never will..... Yes, the top part is done! Now the empty jar wouldn't look good no matter what, so I put many things in it, including safety eyes (of course, who wouldn't know??), ribbons, buttons, sequins, and lace. I was so satisfied when I finished. Yeah.. I used 1 month to think how could I put together like this. I know I know, I am getting old... haha! By the time I have this blog, Corey already told me she loved the jar!! OK, Corey, thanks for loving it! lol (don't tell me the truth here, I can't handle it!) :P

Glittering eyes

These days I haven't been posting anything in my blog, flickr, or other places online. I think after 2 years of doing that, I felt a little tired of it. The other word, I am getting old! haha

This half year we have going through serious events one after the other, like add-on to the house (yeah, we finally did it), buying furniture and waiting 4 months of them, still don't have the dining room table. My daughter suddenly have to have dental treatments on her teeth, 2nd daughter having breathing problem, etc etc... It's very exhausted to run an online store, but even more exhausted to be a mother. I don't remember my mom used to be this way, but I guess she did and I just wasn't realized how big of a job she has done in the past! Mom I love you!

Last 2 weekends I have to finish a pincushion swap, I wanted to do something special for my swap partner. So I did these glittering eyes. I will post the pincushion swap in next blog! I promise I will do that! lol ! At first I didn't have high hope in it because I never use this kind of paint before, turn out that I just have to be patient and did couple coats, turned out it's just beautiful, don't you think? I decided I will make more and put it in my etsy shop. For now, these are going to someone special! :)

Crochet Today！Magazine

Crochet Today! Magazine has a few amigurumi patterns in its issue this time (May/June Issue). They are from Ana Paula Rimoli and Amy Gaines. I think it's because they are having amigurumi patterns, they are happy to include me in their "We Love It!" section. My plastic eyes and hand painted eyes are included in the magazine. I am so happy when my customers told me about it. I never have dreamed to have something like this happen to me. In fact, since I have been selling in etsy, my hand painted eyes never show up in Etsy front page! :'( so this is truly a great gift for me and my shop in this lovely Easter! =D Here I have to thank Linda! ((((((big hug)))))) She gave me this opportunity to be shown in magazine. Linda is a designer too, she has 2 patterns in this issue! :) Clara

Amigurumi Swap 2

The amigurumi swap I mentioned in the last post, I have shown the amigurumi I have made for my partner. This time I am posting the one that made by her. My partner, Michelle, she is very young and talented crocheter! I didn't know she's so young until I read her blog. When I was her age, I remember my mom tried to show me the "shell" crochet pattern and I wasn't even paying any attention. LOL I was a basketball player back then, even though I was only 5 feet 2! haaaaaaa! Anyway, when I got the package, my daughter wanted to know what was inside. Katie, my younger one, was the one to open the box although the swap was mine but she clearly thought that was sure to be hers! After she opened the box, she at once saying "reindeer" "bunny" and "what is this?". hahaha! She was only 4, all the deer she saw was reindeer and she always confused with sheep and goat. Although I told her many times, it's just won't stick to her mind! LOL She claimed the purple deer immediately. I should have known, she loves deer! How did my partner know? She also knew her sister love bunny, so she said "Evie can have the bunny!" I was so pleased, she finally shared! So she happily took the deer and the pink sheep and asked me to take a picture and she then put them into her bed. I was thinking my partner should be very happy that her works were appreciated very much by this family! Katie also asked me to take a picture of her reindeer and then print it out and tape it on the wall. I know she really love these gifts from Michelle! I also got 2 Godiva chocolate bars and a big bag of candies from Michelle. I should take pictures of the moment when my daughters petting their tummies and said "Mommy, Yum, Yum, please please please, let me have the chocolate please!" I was enjoying the moment so much and I forgot to take pictures, silly me! Michelle, Thanks!

Miss Piggy and Little Ghost

Wow.. I didn't notice I haven't been updated this blog for a long time! What a shame! XP

I actually got some problems in my family that I have to deal with, after that, my energy of writing just not there! My younger daughter got breathing problem and went in and out of the hospital a few times these 2 months. We have been sick worrying about her. In the mean time we are not feeling well too. Fortunately we all feel better and I even have a little time to finish a amigurumi swap! Nice! =)

I haven't been crochet for the last few months and I really want to get back into it. Crochet keeps me SANE! LOL With 2 girls yelling, screaming, dancing, smiling, having fun, destroying the whole house, picking up toys, cooking, selling in Etsy, I am happy that doing crochet is the one that keeps me happy and peace in mind! Don't you have that feeling? LOL

Last few weeks I have joined an amigurumi swap. Each person has to crochet 2 amis. I know my partner like undersea critter, but I am not a very good listener, I chose to crochet Miss Piggy. I like her because personally I think she is cute! I am thinking to crochet more for her later. I have so many projects in mind, geez... 24 hours just not enough! I also crochet a little ghost. I saw that one day in my email from Lion Brand yarn and I thought this could be a little something that she might enjoy! =)

The necklace brown bead is from Nspire.etsy.com. Safety Eyes I use 7.5mm clear eyes on little ghost, and 8mm black eyes on Miss Piggy. I think Miss Piggy is about 1 ft long. Shells and Chains Towel

Last 2 days I wanted to make a hand towel for my kids to use in the bathroom. I have tried the hi5 pattern, but I am not making it look nice. For some reasons, I just can't do it, so I got my book out and found this pattern in it, I thought it would look nice. However, my hubby said probably it wouldn't be absorbent enough for them to use. well.. I think he is right, but I like the pattern so much that I probably will make another one just to hang in the bathroom! LOL

Food Toy Swap

I got a swap a few days ago from Netherlands! Hurrah! I love eggs and my swapper found that out! :) Can you see I got a knitted eggs, some dark chocolate which is my fav!! A toy for my kids and also egg warmer! Very throughful swap! ♥ I love the goodies! ♥ Thanks Anna!!

Below is the crochet goodies I sent to her. I hope she will like it too! =) I didn't take all the goodies in whole but only the one I handmade! I made 2 fish-shaped like tawashi / dish clothes, 2 coasters (patterns also from a tawashi design), a decor that I combined from a coffee cup and donut! What do you think? :)

More Crochet Motifs

Last night was dreadful, I mentioned it in last blog. However, at the night time, after my kids went to bed, I finally had my very own time, guess I was gonna do? haha.. that's right, more crochet!!! Yarns and crochet keeps me sane! When I am crocheting I forget most of the unhappy stuff in daily life and focus on the pattern and the yarn and the hook that I am handling, it's so relaxing!~ I made several more motifs last night, it's kinda fun! I think I like to make more of these flowers instead of some more amigurumi, I guess it's because I don't have to sew the parts up! :P

These patterns are from a book called "201 crochet motifs, blocks, projects and ideas" by "Melody Griffiths". I think the book is pretty good, the flowers, motifs and projects are beautiful. If you like to crochet flowers, you may consider to get this book.

Dreadful Wednesday

I always feel terrible in the middle of the week, especially today it's gray and rainy outside. Yes, I don't like rain very often, there is always a lonesome feelings to go with it.

With a day like this, I will choose to crochet something or anything to make the day pass by even faster than normal days, like Monday! LOL

To crochet a motif, it won't take long, 15-20 minutes you will have one beautiful flower! I haven't decided how to use these, may be on a hat, or may be just like a decor or bookmark. Anyway I am happy to see crochet flowers anywhere in my house.

I am a big Harry Potter fans! The first 2 books I read are written in Chinese. Then the 3rd book of Harry Potter I went ahead and read English version, I found that reading the English version is so much better. However, I have a hard time to understand all these English terms and names, so I went back to read the very first book "Soccer Stone" so that I can understand and related all these names. It's a lot better after that. Yes, I am totally addicted!! I can't wait for the movie "the half blood prince" to come out.

Recently I have a customer came to me and get this hand-painted pearl forest green eyes. Then one day she showed me this lovely Beary Potter! I am so amazed and instantly totally in love the bear! I looked at my last post, it has been 2 weeks and I didn't have any new blog post! What's wrong with me? have been swamped of calculating taxes, preparing all the papers, cleaning up the house and stocks! Oh My God, after doing all that, I am totally exhausted. I am not really good at maths, so I am going back to do what I am good at... crocheting! :P After sending my taxes, I am totally relief, so I decided to enjoy myself a little bit to start making amigurumi again! Here I am having this new gray cat, pattern is from AmyGaines again! My daughter is totally in love with these bunch of animals. You can see I have used 2 different colors of eyes, the pattern called for 9mm cat eyes, but I have my 12mm eyes closer to me when I was trying to do this, so I used 12 mm pearl blue eye and 12 mm pearl yellow eye instead. What do you think? I also used a 13 mm heart shaped nose. I think they fit quite well! =) Since I have seen a real cat with 2 different eye colors, I am totally in love with that and every single cat I have made I want to put different colors of eyes to reflect what I have seen! :P

I got inspired in doctor office when I was waiting for my girl to have well-check up! Yes, you didn't read wrong, it's in doctor office, they have so many children books, body pictures and many other things that inspired me to create my hand-painted eyes. This time I have frog/toad eyes, they are 21mm wide!! I also have 24mm pearl yellow and pearl orange eyes. Last one is the 18mm Spin eyes. You know what I was thinking when I was painting these? I was thinking my fan. I can't wait for the summer time to come! It's wet and yucky these days. My hubby looked at these eyes and he spin them in front of me, he was pretending magician to hypnotize me!! It's fun! =)

Oh Boy am I crazy recently? I have been experimenting different colors on hand painted eyes! I love pearl eyes, but plain pearl eyes now just isn't enough!

Old story: When I was in high school, at the time I need to choose what to study! It was many years ago. I like drawing, designs, I have been studying that in school for a few years, it's time to choose a main subject for the future, I wanted to follow my heart to get a diploma in design. However, I couldn't do that, my father told me the reality, the real world about designs, he told me nobody could make a living just doing design, not until a person is totally famous and a person totally famous may be happen 1 every 1000 of people. Result I took different course and listened to my father.

New Story: Since I have worked all these years, never touch my drawing since graduated of high school, then all the sudden, selling eyes in etsy, and all the sudden I started to paint these little eyes! Life is like a circle. Once I start to paint again, I can't stop, I ask myself to do a little more each time and I am loving it!

After these story, aren't we bored yet? So I am showing you these pictures of my newly creations! =) Drumroll please!!!

My new serious "FROSTY MARBLE", these I have to do it in 2 different days because of so many layers I have to paint to create frosty and marble effects, they shimmer too, it's really beautiful!

Newly Hand-Painted 12mm Zombie eyes are available in my etsy store! These eyes are bigger, good for medium size monster, zombie or ghost-liked amigurumi! Nah... Actually it's good for any project you want! I first of thinking to paint these bigger sizes monster eyes when I tried to make the amigurumi panda! After I tried different colors into the panda, I finally decided to use a pair of hand-painted 9mm instead of 12mm. I think smaller eyes are just better for a panda with a big dark circle around the eyes! It's natural! However, I will crochet more amis in the future by using my hand-painted eyes so that you will see how they look like! I personally think using hand-painted eyes will bring the amis more alive because of the shimmer effects. Have you looked right at the cat eyes? They are shimmering, like pearl, very lovely! Although crochet/ knit animals are for fun, but you do want to put some "soul" and heart into it, that's why eyes are important! A few days ago I saw a pattern from Lion Brand website. I was really interested in it. My daughter Katie did too, so picked up my crochet hook again to crochet another amigurumi! I can't help it, it's too much fun! I have tons of Caron Simply Soft Brites yarns, I picked up black and mango (like orange) and started my new project. After Artfire.com and Etsy.com launching statistics capability by using Google Analytic, I felt like a little overwhelming with all these data! I have been watching all sorts of information how to use Google Analytic. For example, videos from Youtube.com and many others people, so called experts, experts writing about how to use and interpret Google analytic. OLD DAYS: I remember the time when I was studying in college. I always read different journals for different subjects, I read books, magazines, financial times to enhance my knowledge and references in order to finish my papers! After I graduated, I swore to myself no more journals, papers, textbooks to read for the rest of my life! Indeed, I didn't read anything longer than a page for a long long time. NOW: Guess what just happened? I started to read all these different people's writings about how to interpret the statistics collected by Google!!! OMG!!! I broke my words! It has been 2 full days whenever I have time to sit in front of computer, I tried to read more about Google Analytic! Enough is enough, I think I should try to get away from computer and try to create something instead. Otherwise, I think I will go crazy by no time! :) Off to go to have some tea and ice-cream!

Recently I have these 7.5mm beautiful eyes and I finally got them listed today. These are very beautiful eyes. It can be used for small to medium size amigurumi, stuffed animals. Early Dismissal Day

Since my kid goes to Pre-K. I build up a love-hate relationship with this Early Dismissal Day from her school! I love that my kid will not be home until 2 pm just for that day (not everyday, I will miss her so much). I hate the fact that since her cousin is at the same bus with her, they would like to play together for another 3 hours in my mother-in-law house (she just lives next door). You may think they play together is a good thing, but what about everyday? Today it's just a little longer! I don't have time to finish my houseworks, cooking, re-listing in my store. Everything I have to do is quite in hurry to get done! Yes, we all live very close, my mother-in-law lives next door, and my sister-in-law is living adjacent opposite house to my house. We all trying to take care of each other and it's very nice. No, I don't hate that at all. We all give each other privacy a lot. My mother-in-law would not come to my house before she calls. She would not come and check everything I have in the house. She is the best mother-in-law you could imagine! OK, go back to the story. I will let her play and stay. My 2nd child would stay there too, of course. She wouldn't let herself getting left out from the crowd. Thus I have to stay there too! I don't mind to stay, but my mother-in-law got so many cats in her house that since I married to this family, I build up an allergy to cat gradually. (No, can't get rid of cats) Now from time to time, I have to use inhaler to help myself to breathe. I don't have asthma, I just can't breathe easily. My dr. said once I have trouble breathing, use that! I did and I felt so much better! Since I have 3 hours to stay in my mother-in-law and have nothing to do, I finally decided to run back home and get some of my eyes photographed in her house. I am so happy that I get it done. I haven't been able to do that for months! Now I got some new pictures! Hurrah! But when I think of it now, I should grab my yarns and needles instead, what was I thinking? Well... if today we have sunshine, even though in 30s I will let my kids to run in the yard, at least they got some exercise, they love to run around non-stop! lol I can't wait for spring to come!

I made this scarf for my hubby's little cousin! He is a 7 years old RedSkins's fan! Before Christmas I asked him, what do you like for Christmas! He said " I wanted a scarf with burgundy and gold! In the market, there are not many varieties of 10.5mm commercial eyes that I can provide in my store! Mostly I can find are clear round eyes and solid black eyes, how boring is that? Since I have been painting my pearl eyes, I thought I should give it a try to paint 10.5mm eyes. It's the perfect sizes for medium size critters! OK, off to go the table and start working!! Outcomes: perfect! I love it! :) Bright and lovely! I always like that pearl, shimmering look in these little eyes! Yes, I am crazy!! My hubby always says I am so obsessed with animals plastic eyes! Vincy is really sweet, her hair has 2 different colors, and her eye chips are so beautiful! I am glad there is no orange eye chips in it! I don't know why, it just makes me feeling creepy! :P Her hair is extremely silky, I think her hair quality is the best among my Blythes! Finally she has arrived to my P.O.BOX! I was so happy to get the package from the postwoman and I waited patiently and deboxed her after dinner! The doll herself is beautiful, silky hair, gorgeous eye chips. Her clothing is also very pretty good looking! However, when I looked carefully I found dirt on the doll legs, I cleaned her up at once. Then I tried to put the stock socks on her, it was broken the moment I put them on her feet. I was so unhappy about that. Yes, I wanted my doll perfect in every way, am i asking too much? Then the shoes, they were a little bit big I think, at least one is bigger than the other. One kept falling down from her foot even though I put on her sock! I remember when I got Mod Molly (MM), it wasn't the same way, the stock clothing was so beautifully made, the doll didn't have any dirt on it, it's perfect. Now I am wondering if the packaging and clothing qualities are decreasing from Blythe company because all they wanted are sales, not the quality!!

These pumpkin earrings are very lovely, and very detailed, they are handmade by Lin from SilverFairyCreations.etsy.com. I haven't been wearing earrings for a long time, may be since I have kids. You know, holding a baby and wearing a pair of lovely earrings just don't go together. I forgot how long ago I had my last pair of earrings on. This year, finally my kids are older, they don't play with mommy's jewelry anymore! They have their only plastic one! :P I am able to wear earrings again! Hurrah! It's getting cold here in So. Md. I have started the process to put away summer clothing and take out the winter clothing. I have finished it in my daughter's wardrobe! Oh Boy! I can't believe 2 little persons have so many clothing!! Anyway, because of all these cleanings around the house, I found my yarns which are hidden in the closet. These stash yarns have been there for half year and I started to search a pattern that is easy to crochet and only eat up 2 skeins of yarns. After all, I think scarf or hat is the only option I have! So I picked up the 6mm hook and once again, sitting in front of the TV, have a cup of green tea, like an old lady, start crocheting! lol.. yes, i feel old :P I love this pattern by Khebhin Gibbons, at first, I don't familiar with the writing, it's a little bit confusing. That's why I tried to use my stash cotton yarn to try it first, after a while, I have a better idea of what the pattern works, then I changed back to my wool/cotton mixed yarn and the result is fabulous! I wasn't using the greatest yarn in the world, these only some yarns I picked up in JoAnn, however, it did give me what I want, a warmy, elegant and beautiful scarf! After I finished this scarf, now I want to make more scarf for my families as Christmas present, yes, it's that time of year again, I need to think, think, think what to make/buy/crochet for my families! Tofu Master

Last weekend I have been trying to create something cute, of course, with my talent, you can see the picture, what you see is what you get, I am not very good at it!! hahahahahaha! I tried to crochet something with a piece of tofu in my mind, however, after I finished crochet it, it looked like a tofu with a hat, or a white pottery, so I named this little guy Tofu master~! I think I am just too hungry for some Chinese Tofu which used to wrapped by a piece of white cloth, the tofu texture is so smooth, heat it up by steaming it in a wok, add a bit of cooking oil, light soy sauce and a few slices of gingers, yummy. That's how my mom used to cook it! It's so nice! Wait a minute, I shouldn't talk about food here, but I can't help it!!!! By the way, the blue comical eyes is a new stock I am going to put in my store! It's 8mm blue comical eyes! :) They are just the cutest thing!

This little brown chick is going to be a swap in Ravelry.com. Before I crochet anything, I have this idea of making something that will fit into fall decorations! At first I wanted to crochet a bird, but then I realize it's not as easy as I thought since I crochet it without any pattern. I started this amigurumi with magic ring and then when I felt enough height of the body I stopped and added the eyes, mouth and wings. This is the first critter that I haven't follow any pattern! Hurrah for me! :) I am not a very creative person, so I always follow pattern. Now since I have crochet this little lovely birdie, I have more confident to crochet something else!! This is the front of the chick The side of the chick, she is looking at you! This is the back and tail of the brown chick, I used the yarn sew from the middle of the bottom through the back and loop back to the bottom again, tied 2 knots and then went through the head of the chick, tied another 2 knots to form hair, that's why she got 2 pieces of hair sticking out of her head! :)

Amigurumi Little Chick

Finally I finished another amigurumi - little chick. It may not look like one, but it meant to be one! :P I just started from a magic ring, I haven't followed any pattern, that's why the chick's body may not look right, but I am quite satisfy with the result. I also sew the bottom and tail with a few stitches to make it sticks out a little bit, and end up giving this little critter 2 pieces of hair! I used 6mm orange eyes here, which usually it's not easy to match with yarn colors, but it did give this little critter fit my fall decorations very well. :)

Since I sell safety / plastic eyes in Etsy, I have always fond with pearl color eyes. I think the shiny, shimmer looking eyes do give a soul to the amigurumi I make. It looks more real than ordinary solid color eyes. However, I can't find many pearl colors out there in wholesale or retails, normally I can only find pearl green, pearl gold, and pearl blue. Because I hand-painted the eyes, I can offer many more colors in my store. I am so excited. This is my very first time offer this hand-painted pearl eyes sampler. Recently I didn't post a lot of blogs, I am so lazy (1st reason), and I am so into crocheting amis (2nd reason), I couldn't stop!! LOL Now, I am going to post some pictures of what I have been making! :) This is Miss Idea, she is a lightbulb. I got his pattern from amigurumiparadise.etsy.com. The pattern's name is "4 tiny amis". I just love this little lightbulb lady, she is helping me a lot to come up with new ideas! :) The little beauty I used "Caron Simply Soft BRITES" and a pair of 7.5mm clear eyes from my store! They look lovely, right? Now this coffe cup is from the same pattern, although this coffee cup is more like an expresso or dark chocolate, but deep inside, he loves coffee! :P This coffee cup I have used some stash baby yarns which I don't remember the name already, 2 pieces of pink square felt, a heart button and a pair of 7.5 mm beige eyes. This little white horse is from a pattern named "floppy friends" from kristieskids.etsy.com, I love her animal friends, they are so cute! I have made the frog, and this horse, I think I need to crochet more animal, they look so lonely by themselves! :p This horse I have used Red Heart solid white yarn, stash yarn for the mane, and a pair of 12mm pearl blue eyes. I got her from Taiwan. A friend of mine helped me to buy her and mailed her to me! I am so thankful to have a friend helped me so much! :) Thanks Shirley! When she arrived she was a little messy, the seller put tapes on her hair and legs. I was so unhappy about that because she should know better how to treat a doll when she's in a long journey like this, at least wrap her with bubble wrapper!!!! Anyway, I cleaned her up and she looks great now!! There are still places need to be fixed but I know that she will be happy in my home with the other girls together! :)

Orange Octopus

In the past few days I crochet this octopus! The pattern is from Lion Brand, click here! I used Caron Simply Soft Brites - Mango (colorway) to make the body, and use Rubine Red to stitch the mouth and all these suckers. My DH called this little guy ANCE Octopus! LOL! I have also used a pair of 9mm yellow eyes here. I think it matches the body color very well and it looks great! The only problem I have when I am making this little guy is after I crochet everything, trying to put the legs onto the body, it doesn't have enough space under the torso to put all 8 legs together! I have to force the last one into its place and overlap with the other leg a little bit! :p

Here I make another knitted cat with different yarns. This time I used Lion Brand - cotton ease! So far I like the feel of this yarn, but I think I like to crochet it better than knit it! I still like wool yarn the best, very easy to knit! Anyway, I still like how the cat turns out! On this cat, I have used a pair of 9 mm black eyes, and a 6 mm eye as a nose.

Blythe's Beret hat

I just got this cotton yarn (Lion Brand Cotton Ease) and I thought I would give it a try to make a Beret! This yarn is not easy to work with, it splitting quite a lot, however I like the color, finally the hat came out pretty good! Beret is a little bigger than I thought, next time I will use a smaller yarn and try that again! This hat took me about 5 hours to do it, I know, I am a slow crocheter! :)

Big mouth Dog

I have used about a week to crochet this dog! It's not difficult to crochet, however, the legs are way too little for my big fingers. I can't imagine I will crochet something real small and little, I don't have the patience I think. Anyway, this pattern is from Amigurumi Collection Book Vol. 6. The dog is quite cute in the book, I don't know about this one I made, hopefully the kid that get it will be happy about this little doggie!

Kitty cat and a baby owl

Last week I made more animals, one is kitty cat. This cat pattern is so quick and easy. You will love it. The whole cat is made in Garter stitch with 3 pieces, head, body and tail. You don't have to do much sewing to get it done, the face expression has so much possibilities, you can use any kind of yarn to make the cat your own design, it's amazing! Here I used a pair of 9mm green pearl eyes and a 12mm nose. The cat size is about 4 inches tall and 5.5 inches long, I used Cascade 220 gray yarn and needle US6/4mm. The size is tiny, but it's very cute! I also made this baby owl, in the middle of the body, I changed the "single crochet" to "single crochet black loop only" and also at the top I changed it to "double crochet" to make it different looking than just an ordinary amigurumi, I like the look of different stitches together. I put a pair of 9mm owl eyes and sew on a beak and called it a lavender baby owl! :)

I spent a few days to crochet this frog. It's not as easy as I thought! I mean it's easy to crochet each part, but to make its eyes like frog isn't that easy at all. I have positioned them in different locations, but they made the frog look like angry mob! haha! So finally I have placed the safety eyes in horizontal position and they look more friendly and realistic looking that way. Anyway, I am still learning how to make amigurumi looks cute, so this is not a bad try at all. Turn out after stuffing this frog, it look like the "HULK" so I am going to name him "HULK the frog". :P Pattern of this frog is came from Kristieskids from Etsy.

Honey Bunny - 1st knitting project

I used a whole month on and off to knit this "honey bunny". I don't care whether it looks like a bunny or doggie, I love it. It's so cute! I love the fact that I learn so many knitting skills on this project, I am so happy but hubby gives me so many advices to improve the face expression, seriously, I have no idea how it knows so much about animals!! :) Anyway, I finished my first knitting project and very glad about it! :)

Purple Monkey

I have spent a whole week to make this monkey amigurumi, it's not especially difficult to make, it just took me a long time to make the feet look right. The pattern is in Amigurumi Collection 2. It's written in Japanese. I wasn't understand how to crochet the foot until I asked several friends of mine, they are amigurumi expert, they made amigurumi every few days, they taught me how to do that, thank you for your help, Slimmom, 豬豬太太 and Janice. I made a few mistakes in this monkey, but I couldn't correct it, it was too late, but also I was too lazy to do it, shame on me!!! Anyway, here it is a purple and next time I will do it better! :)

Ravelry Blythe Swap #2 The things I made

I have made 2 hats, 1 purple color and 1 rainbow colors for SWAP this time. I have used the Cupcake pattern from Michelle and changed the pattern a bit to make the rainbow hat. Thanks Michelle for this fabulous design of cupcake pattern. What do you think? I crochet this dress by using double crochet stitch and same stitches to form shells. I like it so much, it's not the first dress I crochet, but I really like the yarn. I have used Red heart Luster Sheen. It's washable and dryable. It is soft and easy to work with. I really hope that knittygirlie's gal will enjoy it!

I have joined Raverly for a while, and I found this group called "Knitting for Blythe". People there are so nice, and they always have new style of dresses for Blythe and so many beautiful gals. A month ago, I joined this Blythe Swap, I am so excited about this, it's my first SWAP and I wanted to make it enjoyable. The moment I joined my mind go wild. I have been thinking what kind of dress should I make? or hat? or WHAT? I have no idea. I have tried several yarns, different sizes, different crochet hook sizes, finally I got what I wanted and mailed them out on the deadline. The whole process allowed me to try different things on yarns, skills and patterns and I love it. If there is more Blythe SWAP I will join it again defintely :) These gifts I got from knittygirlie. She created this dust bunny, and she knitted this beautiful purple dress with a cat on it. You can tell how much work would that be! We all love these very much!!! Thanks Knittygirlie.
